Here's one which doesn't belong to Sweden but has fully to do with the “stories from my North”. I came back few days ago from the Varanger Photo Tour in Norway, led together with Giulio Ielardi. A week-long journey packed with lights (both usual and “northern”), waves, snowstorms, wind and wings and nice people to guide along the Varangerfjord coastline to be hit by everything just mentioned, and much more. In a travel which has also been a journey into the memories in places that – due to timing, circumstances and life choices – I got to know in a turning point of my past, and one not even that recent anymore. Shags. The island of Hornøya and its thousands and thousands birds (in our hopes, on the snow) has understandably been one of the main courses of the trip program. We devoted two days to it, the first of which made us to drink from the goblet of the most pure Arctic: frozen wind and snow blizzards, rough water (boundary conditions to board... and above all to disembark) and lights as livid as suggestive. Flights. The second Hornøya day reconciled us with the Glacial Sea climate: a full sunny day, albeit chilly, and the chance to take some pictures of the thousands of birds in flight. Places. Ever-changing lights and as variable sceneries, between low shores, steep cliffs, sparse birch forests and endless and bare mountain uplands. Backstage. A.k.a. photo souvenirs, “family album” if you wish, only with a cooler name.

I live in Sweden, in Särna (Dalarna). The Chronicles are a photo diary about the nature (but not just) here around and from all the Scandinavian areas where my photo job takes me.
